Following the growing concern about the economic crisis especially in the dairy and in the livestock sectors in certain member states of the EU, the Luxembourg Presidency decided to convene an extraordinary Agriculture Council meeting.
The Council will hold a debate on the state of play of agriculture markets in the EU with a special focus on the difficulties in the milk sector and the animal production. In this regard, the impact on the EU market of the import ban on EU agricultural products imposed by Russia will also been discussed by ministers.
