Conference - EU Citizenship and Justice

This Conference is part of a series of three – organised by the Italian, Latvian and Luxembourg presidencies of the Council of the EU together with the EU Commission – which examine the role of the Court of Justice of the European Union in the development of the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice, each emphasizing one distinctive issue.

The objective of the Luxembourg conference is to analyse the rights that can be derived from the concept of citizenship with regard to the access to and the administration of justice, the protection of fundamental rights during cross-border investigations and to what extent the concept of citizenship influence the actions and functioning of EU institutions and agencies.
