    As with all rotating Presidencies, the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union is offering a decoration of the Council's "Justus Lipsius" building in Brussels. The Government has entrusted the project to the Ministry of Culture, which has been working with the Luxembourg consultant and designer, Georges Zigrand, to create a unified design of three areas: the so-called "Presidency's Office", the hall and the atrium.

    Conference on financing for development in Addis Ababa - Integration of the three dimensions of sustainable development (economic, social and environmental) is key to the EU position

    On 13 July 2015, Romain Schneider, Luxembourg's Minister for Cooperation and Humanitarian Action, participated in the opening of the Third Conference on Financing for Development held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Along with the United Nations Summit in New York in September and the Paris Climate Conference in December (COP21), the Addis Ababa conference ranks among the three major events on the road to sustainable development to be held during Luxembourg's Presidency. The New York Summit aims to set out future sustainable development goals for the post-2015 development agenda (SDG). At the joint press conference with Nevin Mimica, European Commissioner for International Cooperation and Development, Romain Schneider, on behalf of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the EU, presented the contribution of the European Union.

The two leaders affirmed their commitment to working together and to making every effort "to talk, listen, be respectful and try to find solutions in the interest of 28 countries and 500 million citizens' as stated by Xavier Bettel.In addition to the priorities of the Presidency, Xavier Bettel and Donald Tusk discussed current affairs, such as migration and Greece.

    The Minister for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, Romain Schneider, opened on 9 July 2015 the Africa Day with the goal to "stimulate inclusive growth in Africa". He was supported by Werner Hoyer, President of the European Investment Bank (EIB) and Phil Hogan, European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development. The conference, organized by the European Investment Bank (EIB), as part of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union, aims to exchange best business practices on the African continent.

    How to make access to Personalised Medicine a reality for a larger amount of citizens and contribute to integrating Personalised Medecine into clinical practice? Against the background that Personalised Medicine being more than ever at the heart of societal debate, the Luxembourg Presidency wishes to launch a process of reflection centered around the public health dimension. On 8 July 2015, the High Level conference has attracted many stakeholders to Luxembourg: public health decision makers, representatives from the Commission, patient organisations and various other European umbrella organizations representing interest groups and associations actively engaged in the field of Personalised Medicine.

    Minister for Home Affairs, Dan Kersch, visited Brussels on 8 July 2015 to set out the priorities of the twelfth Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU) - from July to December 2015 - before the Committee of the Regions (CoR).     The Luxembourg Presidency and the European Commission welcome the sharing of identical priorities during the visit of the Commission in Luxembourg

    Two days after the official start of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the European Union (EU), the European Commission visited Luxembourg City on 3 July 2015 as part of its traditional visit to the Member State which holds the Presidency for the next six months. This was the opportunity for the College of Commissioners to hold discussions with the Luxembourg ministers in several working groups and for the Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and the President of the Commission Jean-Claude Juncker to discuss the priorities of the Presidency and current political events during a bilateral meeting.

    On 2 July 2015, under the auspices of the Luxembourg Presidency of the Council of the EU, the Luxembourgish Association of Young Farmers and Winegrowers and the Service Jeunesse de la Centrale Paysanne de Luxembourg (Luxembourg Youth Service of Country Farmers) organised, in collaboration with the European Council of Young Farmers (CEJA), a conference entitled 'Empowering young farmers – a pillar of Europe 2050' to be held in Ettelbrück (north of Luxembourg). The objective of the conference was to discuss issues relating to the development of young farmers in Europe.

    CEJA Conference - Political actors and representatives of the agricultural sector exchanged views on the future of the CAP and the risks and opportunities involved with the globalisation of agriculture
